13 Best Nightlife Cities

When the sun goes down is when things really heat up. From the East Coast to the West Coast,
here's a look at the cities with the wildest nightlife.

 

1 Miami Beach

It’s hot during the day but Miami Beach's night scene heats up after dark! Join one of the parties along the famous South Beach neighborhood. Take a slow drive over to Ocean Drive, Lummus Park, the Art Deco Tour or the Lincoln Road Mall. Relax at a laid-back lounge or hit one of the high-energy dance clubs along the art deco streets. A night out at "SoBe" (South Beach) can be fun but expensive. And remember the actual South Beach is noted for its young, topless sunbathers.

If you’re traveling with your family, you'll find the kid-friendly beaches at Hollywood Beach in Fort Lauderdale has affordable restaurants, stores and hotels. It’s a lot more affordable than South Beach. Most hotels North or South have beautiful pools. Miami sports fans can see the Marlins get a hit, the Heat slam dunk or the Dolphins score a touchdown.

 

2 Las Vegas

Sin City has earned its reputation as America's adult playground for good reason. It really is as the saying goes, what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.
You’ll find some of the wildest nightclubs along the neon lit streets in this Nevada hotspot, they even have a Neon Museum.

If you enjoy gambling, Las Vegas is famous for it’s huge casinos along the Strip. Roll the dice, spin the wheel or hit the blackjack table at Caesars Palace, MGM Grand, The Mirage, The Venetian or Bellagio Casino. If you enjoy hard-hitting sports, Mandaly Bay Casino often hosts boxing matches. Take a trip downtown and visit Fremont Street in Old Las Vegas, which was the birthplace of Sin City with its many iconic and brightly lit casinos.

If you’re not interested in casinos, there are tons of topnotch shows like Cirque du Soleil, comedy and magic shows. Or if you want less flashy alternative to the Strip, go hiking in Red Rock Canyon Conservation area, visit the Hoover Dam.
With or without "The Hangover" you’ll be singing "Viva Las Vegas."

 

3 Orlando

Orlando heats up when the sun goes down. Visitors with kids have all the theme parks to choose from in the day including, Disney World, Universal Studios, water parks and Sea World. Adults wanting to let loose can choose from dinner shows, live music, dance clubs, comedy clubs, local breweries and interactive entertainment complexes. Universal Studios theme parks are a blast during the day, stick around because the Universal CityWalk is a hot night spot. Places there include Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville, Velvet Bar and Red Coconut Club. Yes Mon! You’ll have a fun time at the Bob Marley Tribute to Freedom.

Want to cool off, chill out at the Icebar. Have a few laughs at the Inprov Comedy Club. You might see strange things at the Ghost Bar & Lounge. Things don’t always go wrong at Murphy’s Arms Pub. Listen to the dueling pianos at Howl at the Moon. Basketball fans know Disney is not the only place in Orlando with “Magic.” Day or night, you’ll have a hot time in Orlando.

 

4 New York City

If you are in a “New York State of Mind” then take a bite out of the Big Apple. No city has a larger variety of nightlife options than NYC. You can spend an evening in a trendy SoHo lounge, join in a bar crawl in the East Village, catch a show on Broadway, take in the neon lights in Times Square, sing karaoke or enjoy dinner at any one of the diverse restaurants. Watch as you make your way through the "concrete jungle where dreams are made of" with roaring taxicabs, cyclists and busy crowded streets. "These streets will make you feel brand new. The lights will inspire you," just ask Alicia Keys.

For sightseeing there’s the Empire State Building, Times Square, MSG and Grand Central The best way to see New York is to leave it, take the Circle Line to see the Statue of Liberty and the towering skyscrapers. Admire the beautiful art at the Met and the MoMa. NY is also famous for their Halloween parade. All of that is in Manhattan, there are four other boroughs, where sports fans can see The Mets, Yankees, Nets, Islanders and U.S. Open tennis.  If you can make it here, you can make it anywhere. The night life never stops in the city that never sleeps.

 

5 New Orleans

New Orleans is the home of the biggest party of the year: Mardi Gras!
The famous all-out parade with Carnival traits, such as beads, masks, beads, music, beads, costumes, more beads and a really wild time. You’ll see wilder costumes here than at Halloween.

New Orleans is still fun even when Mardi Gras is not going on. The French Quarter where colonial heritage still survives is known for wild times where partygoers stay out all night.  Football fans know this is the town where the “Saints” came marching in.

New Orleans is famous for its music: Jazz, blues, rock 'n' roll and Zydeco tunes can be heard in each Bourbon Street clubs. Take a stroll through the Garden District, City Park, or the National World War II Museum. If you can't make it to Mardi Gras, you'll still find plenty of parties here in the Big Easy.

 

6 Chicago

You'll be blown away in the Windy City. Chicago hot spots sizzle with live music, dancing and theater. Even though Chi-town has plenty of lounges and loud nightclubs, many residents prefer a night out at a quiet neighborhood bar.
America's third-largest city has a thriving arts scene, various shopping malls and an unlimited amount of eateries many featuring famous Chicago-style pizza. Like New York, Chi-town has huge skyscrapers, public arts and beautiful museums like the Field Museum. Sports fans have plenty of places to go since the Windy City is host to the Bears, Bulls, Cubs, White Sox and Blackhawks. After your visit, you may leave with the Chicago (band) song on your mind, “Take Me Back to Chicago.”

 

7 Austin

Austin's nickname is the "Live Music Capital of the World," Austin has more live music venues than Nashville, New Orleans or New York. Several famous musicians started their careers here, including Janis Joplin, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Willie Nelson, Lucinda Williams, Meat Puppets and the Dixie Chicks. Check out some of the up-and-coming talent along 6th Street.
Austin has the largest urban bat population in the U.S. In summer you can see thousands of bats in the night sky feeding off insects before they head back south for the fall. The weather in Austin is usually warm and sunny, you can relax and enjoy the sun in huge Zilker Metropolitan Park. Austin tends to be more laid back than other Texas cities. The residents feel Austin is different from the rest of the Lone Star State and proclaim the city's motto, "Keep Austin Weird."
